Board Members

Dr. David J. Vaughan
He is a writer and leader dedicated to the propagation of the Christian message by means of the spoken and written word. Currently, Dr. Vaughan is Pastor of Liberty Christian Church, Director of Liberty Leadership Institute (a division of Whitefield Theological Seminary) and President of Liberty Classical School.

In addition to these ongoing activities, David also addresses current and biblical issues through writing. He is a consulting editor for the St. Louis MetroVoice and Highland Books, and his articles have appeared in numerous national publications. As a lecturer and community leader, David has appeared on nationally syndicated television and radio, and is a host of the Encounter radio program (KSIV 1320 AM).

Dr. Vaughan is a member of the National Association of Scholars, the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Evangelical Philosophical Society. He holds the BS in Education, the MA in Political Science, the DA in Christian Leadership, and Ph.D. in Christian Thought.

David and his wife Diane have four children: Hannah, Lydia, Ethan and Adam.
 

Mr. Dan Benson
 
 
Dan graduated in 1975 with a BA degree in Secondary Education from the University of New Orleans. He spent one year in Japan at Sophia University studying International Government and Politics. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Capt. He also spent several years as the 7th- 12th grade facilitator at the Crestview Christian Academy for the O'Fallon Church of the Nazarene and has been a police officer for the City of Bridgeton since 1987. Dan came to Christ in 1976 while serving in the Marine Corps.  His ministry in the Church has been as an adult Sunday school teacher, support group leader and church board member. 
 
 
 
Dr. Denis Boyle

Dr. Boyle serves on the Liberty Classical School board and is the Chairman of the LCS science department. He has a Doctorate in Chemical Pathology from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Denis also has a Master of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He has over twenty year's research experience, mostly in the Life Sciences industry, and has accumulated approximately fifteen scientific publications or patents. He has received an international research award and presented his work both nationally and internationally.

Denis lives in Moscow Mills with his wife, Jo Ann, and their five children.

 

 
 
Mr. Robert Knodel

Robert graduated from the University Of Cincinnati as a Chemical Engineer.  Upon graduation he entered the US Air Force during the Korean War and served as a bomber pilot and a squadron commander.  After leaving the Air Force and managing the family business, he returned to the University of Cincinnati as an instructor in the Compute Science Department.
 
 
 
Mr. Greg Tyler

Greg Tyler graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Business and then spent the next twenty years flying professionally for Easter Metro Express, TWA and American Airlines.  After being furloughed from American, Greg and a partner started IntegraSeal, a sealant company and U.S. EnviroSolutions, a distribution company of IntegraSeal products. 
 
Having grown up on a farm in South Dakota, Greg is passing on his rural heritage by raising his three children on a small farm in Clarksville.  For the years the family has been raising alpacas and they travel throughout the country participating in alpaca shows.  He and his wife Melinda enjoy gardening and hosting visitors and hunters. 
 
Greg has been director of Missions at Liberty Christian Church (www.libertystl.com) and has recently joined the school board for Pike County Christian School.  Greg's desire is to see our Christian heritage passed on to many generations so that we might continue to be a land of liberty and bring honor and glory to God.
